A mid-century modern with amazing details.

The homeowners wanted to relocate to the Rogue Valley and established a relationship with Craig Reese, who played a key role in the selection of the house with their mid-century design criteria in mind. The collaboration paid off when they found this gem, hidden in the foothills with a breathtaking view of Mt. McLoughlin. Floor-to-ceiling high efficiency windows and patio doors were installed throughout the home. Benchmark vaulted the ceilings to match the roof pitch and added tongue-and-groove cedar planks. The interior blocks were sandblasted to create a uniquely modern feel that compliments the richness of the walnut doors. Ultra low-profile black interior door casings frame the openings without overpowering the beauty of the wood. The natural beauty of walnut ties the fireplace wall, bookcases, entry screen, and front door together in dramatic form. Custom metal work is showcased throughout. High-efficiency upgrades included a new boiler for the in-floor heat, and an on-demand whole house water heater.
